The Edgewood Leather Co. began in a small backyard shop in Edgewood, NM in 1990. From a quality line of dog collars and belts (crafted in the style of English reins), Edgewood broke into the bridlemaking industry in 1992. By 1995, a new facility was needed, and the business was moved to Moriarty, NM. Since that time, Edgewood has become America’s premier bridlemaker.

Edgewood bridles are available in both Plain- or Fancy-raised. Upholstery-grade leather padding adds a soft edge to our padded bridles.
They offer a 'standard' 3/4" wide bridle (with a 5/8" brow band) or a 5/8" 'petite' bridle (with a 1/2" brow band). Both widths come with a 7/8" crown and 1/2" cheek pieces. 5/8" bridles available in Pony, Cob and Horse 3/4" bridles available in Cob, Horse and Oversize (Warmblood)
Edgewood Martingales are available in both Standing and Running styles, in Plain- or Fancy-raised and Flat. Fine hand- and machine-stitching, stainless steel hardware, handcrafted square-corner keepers and attention to every detail make our Martingales the finest available and the perfect compliment to your Edgewood Bridle and Reins.
Edgewood offers what we feel may be the finest girth on the market today. The top of each girth is manufactured from the same quality cowhide as our strapwork. The inside is constructed from thick, 7/16" felt laid over a length of nylon webbing which is sewn in to prevent stretching and to add
additional strength to the girth.
A nylon-reinforcing strap is sewn into each buckle chape to prevent buckles from tearing. The inside felt and reinforcing webbing is then covered beautifully with an overlay of the highest quality top grain leather and sewn into place with heavy-gauge thread. For our padded girth, we use a soft, plush sheepskin. The sheepskin is available either sewn in or removable. Removable fleece are held to the girth with heavy-duty, 3" wide Velcro®. Replacement fleece may be purchased for any size girth.
